Expat life and life changes

A new country, a new job, often a new language. You wanted this move, and yet something isn't falling into place.

Luxembourg, a country people pass through

Almost half of Luxembourg's residents are not Luxembourgish, and many people commute in every day from France, Belgium or Germany. It is a rich international life, but it has a cost that is easy to underestimate:

  • loneliness in the first months, far from family and friends;
  • the fatigue of living and working in another language;
  • a couple that has to readjust when only one partner has found their place;
  • feeling not quite at home, either here or back there;
  • long commutes and little time for yourself.

Every change needs adjusting to

What applies to moving abroad also applies to other turning points: a birth, a separation, a new role, retirement, deciding to change a habit. Even a positive change shakes up your bearings.

In sessions we look at what you left behind, what you are looking for here and the resources you can rely on. Then we work on concrete goals so that the new situation becomes liveable, and ideally one you have truly chosen.

Talking in your own language

I am Italian and live in Luxembourg, so I know this path from experience too. Sessions are in English, French or Italian, at the practice or by video, which also suits cross-border workers.
